Companies and individuals involved in the gaming industry often require legal assistance from professionals who know and understand the law as well as the business dynamics associated with gaming, a national growth industry.  The Gaming Law practice group at Gallop, Johnson & Neuman includes professionals who are familiar with both the legal and practical considerations in representing clients in the gaming industry.

We have worked closely with Staff of the Missouri Gaming Commission for more than ten years in representing clients with gaming interests in the state of Missouri.  These attorneys have a keen understanding that in representing clients subject to governmental regulation, it is extremely important to understand the decision-making process utilized by the regulatory agency.  Simply reading the statutes and regulations is not enough.  It is critical to understand how rules and regulations are applied by the regulatory body and this can only be achieved by ongoing interaction with decision-makers.  The following is a sampling of Gaming Law matters we have handled:

  • Provide clients with an analysis and interpretation of the Missouri gaming regulations and statutes
  • Assist clients with various issues involving existing Key Entity, Key Person, Level I, Level II and Supplier licenses issued by the Missouri Gaming Commission
  • Assist clients with disciplinary matters before the Missouri Gaming Commission
  • Assist clients with proposals to the Missouri Gaming Commission to develop new gaming facilities, including assistance in the preparation of proposals to governmental entities in host communities
  • Assist clients in the acquisition of existing licensed gaming facilities in Missouri, including the submission of Motion For Change Of Control, Class A license applications, Key Person license applications and Level I license applications
  • Assistance with issues involving the appointment by the Missouri Gaming Commission of a supervisor to manage an existing Class A licensed riverboat casino
  • Review various contracts regarding entertainers appearing at casinos
